Nova Entertainment is a new LLC from Chicago-based multimedia entertainment channel The Ampliverse and their flagship show, Boys Love Boys Love, from the minds of husbands Adam Noecker and RJ Silva. As a fan of their content, I’ve had the honor to develop a working relationship with them to establish new branding and synthesize the current one.
This overall collaboration is a recent development, as such this section will be updated as each phase gets finalized.
Brand Identity
To establish a visual identity they could utilize and call their own, I worked with them to find their needs and wants. With an already established brand with The Ampliverse, the challenge here was to create a distinct voice that is unique to Adam and RJ.
Influenced by the Ampliverse logo, this concept features soft gradients and typography to really emphasize the concept of what Nova represents to us. The orbit and color scheme both represent the unity of two beings: blue and pink representing their two genres of content, Kpop and queer media, and Adam and RJ themselves as Nova comes from combining the two.
Channel Assets
A large portion of their content involves reaction videos, mostly to Kpop music. As such, to organize the wide variety of groups they focus on; I developed a series of templates to be able to plug in the information for an eye-catching one pager and translate this layout for any other assets needed such as thumbnails and header images.
These graphics operate on a four category system: Winners, groups that won a Survival Show that the hosts followed with weekly reactions and recaps. Finalists, groups composed of members that made it to the finale of their respective Survival Show but not the final group. Beloveds, groups that were voted on by their Patreon audience for their month long Beloved of the Month series where they deep dive into a group. And Producer Picks, groups that don’t fall into the other three categories but were picked by one of the hosts as a group they’d really fallen in love with.
